What owners ask before calling

If yours isn’t here, write it in the form and a lawyer will answer.

What should I bring to the first call?

The letter or letters, photos of what they describe, and any governing documents you have. If you only have the letter, that is enough to begin.

Will the association learn that I called?

Not from us. We contact the association only when you ask us to, and we tell you what we will say before we say it.

Will writing to the board make my neighbors angry at me?

Boards are made of neighbors, and we write the way a calm neighbor would. Most matters end with a letter, not a lawsuit.

Do you go to court?

If a matter can’t be settled, yes. We tell you the likely cost before taking that step, and only if you say so.

Do you handle condominium associations as well as homeowners’ associations?

Yes. Condominiums, townhome communities, gated neighborhoods and deed-restricted subdivisions are all common here.

I rent my home. Can you help?

This office works for owners. If you rent, we can point you to someone who works for tenants.

I serve on my association’s board. Can you advise us?

No. We act for homeowners only, which is why homeowners can trust us with their letters. We can suggest where boards look for counsel.

Do you work outside Port St. Lucie?

Yes, for owners in St. Lucie County and the neighboring counties, by phone, email and video as well as in the office.

A question we missed?

Write it down, with the letter if you have one. A lawyer here reads it and replies.
